Above all, in my opinion, the depth and comprehensiveness of traditional Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan as an expression of Taoist thought and practical application should be lauded. This includes the teachings as passed down by the entire Yang family lineage beginning with Yang Lu Chan and his heirs, regardless of their branches.

Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan is integral because it allows its practitioners to work on and develop themselves with highly detailed and useful methods that create a naturally harmonious environment that is mechanically valid in its physicality and at the same time generative in its energetic response.

The work involved in training provides deep and lasting physical, energetic and emotional transformation for students and teachers alike whether or not practitioners are adept at comprehe

nding and applying the basic principles and practice methods that underlie Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan. However, when the foundational concepts inherent in the style are taken into account and applied, even if they are not fully or deeply comprehended, the levels of development that can be achieved become a consistent value added to the
